Visiting Walt Disney World for the first time as a child was the most overwhelmingly fantastic experience for me. My second time was even better. But my love and appreciation (some might even call it an obsession) for Disney didn’t come until my third trip. I was 16 years old and was dating my very first boyfriend. His family were big Disney fans and they went to Disney every year. After just 8 months of dating, I was invited to join them on their trip. And, after weeks of begging my parents and crying myself to sleep, my sweet, overprotective father finally agreed to let me go. That trip changed everything.

Walking through the Magic Kingdom that trip, I found I was still in awe of Disney’s magic, even at 16. My boyfriend and I rode every ride, saw every show and watched all the fireworks. It was an amazing trip. Fortunately for me, I was invited back year after year and Disney became a huge part of our relationship.

Then, six years later, on another fabulous Disney vacation with his family, Michael stopped me in front of Cinderella’s Castle, got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! To say it was a dream come true would be an understatement! One year later we were married and, of course, we celebrated our Honeymoon with yet another trip to Disney!

Since then we have kept the tradition alive visiting Walt Disney World year after year (sometimes three or four times a year!). And, now we are able to enjoy it with our two young boys and every trip we bring them back to the very spot where Michael proposed. And after 35+ visits to Disney’s Walt Disney World, it’s still just as magical as it was when I 6 years old.
